Today after two and a half years of trying out, of posting, and of paying advertisements I left Facebook. As an artist (and as a private person anyway) I never felt right at home there. I think it is first and foremost meant as a private network, and the algorithms do their's bit to keep it that. On the other hand, in contrary to other platforms such as Instagram or Spotify, I never felt like making Facebook my home as a musician. – So Good-bye good old FB, may the meta-force be with you.
We are extremly proud and grateful to announce our first album The Pilgrim Age which will be released on 21st July 2022 (CD/Download/Streaming).
The CD will be available at The Lyhrus Store.
A moment may come
somewhere along the path of your life
When you'll wonder
If you found the cathedral
Of all your hopes and dreams.
But at the end of the pilgrimage
At the end of all days
You only will be asked
if you found the path
that was destined for you.
Sold out concert on Sunday, 29th May in the Französische Kirche in Potsdam marked the end (at least for the time being) of our Pilgrim Age concert series. The singers were great again, and the audience cheered. "From Clair de lune until the end I couldn't stop to cry." (feedback from the audience) – this is actually why I write and need to perform music.
On 20th June the ensemble will come together to resume the series and to plan how to continue.

I was pretty nervous before and during the concert at the OSTERIA on last Saturday, because I played five pieces I never performed before (among them the new presto, see the previous video). After the concert I talked to some people in the audience and they agreed to what my sisters told me about that piece: that it sounded to her like a little sparkling streamlet which however grows up to a river. So in the end I called the piece 'Rivulet'.
Bernd Blome, a fine photographer, whom I got to know in NOYA Theater of sound and who is actually my neighbour, too, came and shot some very beautiful photos. I use them on almost every page of my website, so I hope you like them as much as I do.
Here comes a new piece, a bit more virtuoso than usual, it‘s still not finished and has no title so far but I think I‘ll play in the upcoming MELOPHILIA concert on Saturday anyway. It like the idea to let the audience be part of the composing process somehow, because that‘s how I sometime work: playing the music over and over again to let it grow and find its shape by itself- hope you like it.
Unfortunately our gig at the BDY congress in Fulda was cancelled again due to problems resulting from pandemic restrictions and was postponed to 2023. But so we had a weekend off and decided to meet in Potsdam at the SZAS to record some pieces from the Pilgrim Age programme, which we otherwise only could have done in october or later this year. Alexander Lekscha appeared as our sound engineer again, and we had great time all together. The results are soon to follow.

Arrived yesterday, to play in (or for!) moments of silence: Alongside of the release of the Dawnsongs album the sheet music of all 14 pieces is available now in the Lyhrus Store and before/after my concerts.

I'm honoured to give the opening concert for the new cultural event series OSTERIA – in a dreamlike vespertine atmosphere and while enjoying a drink and some snacks you may experience concerts, movies, readings, slam poetry a.o. All this is embedded in the unique ambience of the Osterkirche in Berlin Wedding.
The opening concert will take place on 21st May at 7.30 p.m., it will be the release concert of my new Melophilia albums I & IV as well from which I will play a number of pieces.
After the concert you're invited to stay with us for a nice conversation. Tickets are now avaible here.
I'm looking forward to experiencing a very special evening with you.
It took a long time, but finally the first two albums of my Melophilia cycle, Dawnsongs and Nocturne are released now. Watch the release videos below or listen to the music on Spotify, Apple Music etc. – or simply buy the music as a download on my Bandcamp account or as Compact Discs in the Lyhrus Store. I hope you enjoy the music!
Today I'm pretty excited to announce the launch of my new Lyhrus Store! You can get Compact Discs there, or concert tickets, scores of my compositions, and some fine artwork products as well. Have a look, I hope you enjoy it: store.lyhrus.com
